UGADI FESTIVAL !!!!

The UGADI or TELUGU New year festival,which is the first festival of our Telugu calendar and the first big festival that comes after Sankranti.

Preparations for the festival begin a week ahead. Houses are given a thorough wash.
Shopping for New clothes and buying other items that go with the requirements of the festival are done with a lot of excitement.

On Ugadi day, People wake up before the break of dawn and take a head bath after which they decorate the entrance of their houses with fresh Mango leaves & "Rangoli" designs,which signifies prosperity and general well-being.New clothes for family members are arranged before the deity or in the puja room. Then family members are given new clothes.Now the family assembles in the Puja room.The Panchanga Puja is performed.Next is the usual arati on the deity and the panchanga.

Next Ugadi pachadi is eaten on empty stomach.The traditional puja ends here.

UGADI PACHADI is a special preparation prepared in every Andhra home on Telugu New Year’s day.It is made of new jaggery, raw mango pieces and neem flowers and new tamarind.The sweetness of jaggery, the sourness of tamarind, the bitterness of neemflower and the pungent flavour of the green mango skin, spice of the chilli powder ,raw tender mango’s taste and lastly salt form the six tastes of the pachadi.You can also add small pieces of sugarcane, pieces of ripe banana.
which truly reflect LIFE - a combination of sweet, sour and bitter tastes!

Of course, other than the special Pachadi we also prepare special foods with the use of raw mango like Lime rice,Green mango dal,mango pickle,mango coconut pickle,Aratikaya fry,papads & uppu mirapa"bobbatlu" ,payasam and garelu with steamed rice....

We Celebrate Ugadi Festival with double happiness,b'coz my Mothers BIRTHDAY is also on the same day...

Story in brief: Two young brothers are drawn into an intergalactic adventure when their house is magically hurtled through space because of the board game they are playing.The younger brother (Danny) finds an old Zathura game in the basement,that transports them into the game.Cards are drawn that effect their fate and their surroundings.The only way to escape the perils of the game, is to play it through.The card describes the action to follow.The movie is visually stunning. The discovery by the children, that their house has been transported to a location in outer space.

There are quite a few nice things about this film.The film offers enough action to keep your attention and enough surprises to keep you guessing.what's there is pretty good.overall, the film moved along at a brisk pace and had some nice unexpected twists with modern day action levels. it's a nice mix,a realm of childhood experiences.I was pleasantly surprised when watching this movie and at the end I wished it had been longer.With special effects that are realistic (as realistic as a fantasy film can get anyway) the end result is an excellent movie for all ages.Very thoughtful design and effects. The convincing use of miniatures, real sets and chaos/destruction really brought the story to life.Actually enjoyed. I love it! Have seen about a dozen times now.

Makar Sankranti is one of the most auspicious day for the Hindus, and is celebrated in almost all parts of the country in myriad cultural forms, with great devotion, fervor & gaiety.

It is celebrated with pomp in southern parts of the country as Pongal, and in Punjab is celebrated as Lohri & Maghi. Gujarati's not only look reverentially up to the sun, but also offer thousands of their colorful oblations in the form of beautiful kites all over the skyline.

There is another significance of this day, after this day the days start becoming longer & warmer, and thus the chill of winter in on decline.

This festival is celebrated differently in different parts of the country.

My Hobby - Collecting Erasers.

I Have a Fetish for "Collecting erasers".
I've been collecting Erasers as a hobby since i am in 7th Class.I've a collections of over 1,000 pcs.
They come in lovely colours , shapes & Usually smell very nice .......
My collections consists of Alphabets , Animals , Cartoon characters , Foods etc.,
I am very particular about each erasers i have & Don't pick the same.

Whenever there is a Book fair / any market i visit , my eyes are only on the Erasers section.
My Sister & Brother helps me in collecting different types of 'Erasers & key chains'.
My Passion for collecting erasers started when my friends in school were very excited to see the Massive collection of Erasers.The excitement of Friends,Cousins,some what prompted me to develop this passion.

I think i'm the 1st "Eraser Collector" from Andhra pradesh............
